We Have No Choice But To Put All Of Our Hopes And Beliefs And Dreams Into Josh Doctson

I don’t like using the word “bust” for a 25 year old, 3rd year WR who didn’t even play his first year, but Josh Doctson, the 22nd overall pick in the 2015 draft, is skewing that way. He’s tall…and that’s about it. He doesn’t get much separation and his hands are questionable a best. Skins fans have given up on him to the point when I tweeted yesterday morning “Josh Doctson will get a TD today” my mentions became a very funny roast session of Josh Doctson. To say he has fallen out of favor in DC would be an understatement.

But here’s the problem- we have nobody else. Jamison Crowder can’t get on the field. Paul Richardson has been a solid pick up but at the same time he has 20 catches this season, that’s not gonna work. Michael Floyd? Brian Quick? Don’t think so, mon frere.

So I’m now a one man Josh Doctson fan club. I believe the kids would say I stan for him. Because at the end of the day, we don’t got shit else. We need to believe in something, or somebody, and my god I’m going to choose to believe in Josh Doctson. I mean look at these catches:

Honestly, when the defense plays poorly, it’s quite concerning that there’s no spark on the offense. When Chris Thompson isn’t in the game, which is becoming the norm because he has never stayed healthy, there is nobody on the offense that can get anything going. I guess you could say Peterson, but even he is faulty. And Alex Smith isn’t doing anyone any favors.

The one bright spot though is Maurice Harris. The undrafted WR has great hands and is quickly going to become the Skins most dependable receiver, if he’s not already.

Mo Harris…actually good. Please keep giving him targets.

So that’s where we’re at. I’m throwing all my support behind Josh Doctson because I don’t know what else to do. He can only get better and I’m going to be here for it when he turns that corner.
