Serena Williams Was Called Out For Cheating And Lost Her Goddamn Mind At The US Open Women's Final
Serena Williams just lost her fucking mind at the US Open. In the middle of the second set of the US Open Women’s Final Serena was called for a coaching violation when she looked into her coach’s box and saw him doing this.

She claims her coach was just giving her a thumbs when in reality he was definitely telling her to come in more. She was given a code violation (warning) and was in disbelief. She went right up to the chair umpire and started berating him, saying he’s a mother and would rather lose than cheat. When she was later broken in the set she slammed her racket on the ground, destroying it. The chair umpire gave her a point penalty as a result. In between games she started screaming at the chair umpire again about getting the coaching violation. That’s when she went bananas, demanding an apology from him. Instead she was given a full game penalty. Literally just a few games away from a deciding set in the US Open she was taken a game away from her because she called the umpire a thief. That’s all she said. Pretty ridiculous move by the umpire. The fans started booing, Serena started crying, she kept yelling, and no one knew what to do.
The match continued as Serena kept crying between games to the officials. She lost the second set 6-4 and the match in straight sets to Naomi Osaka. Credit to Osaka for keeping her composure and not even celebrating when she won after such a crazy moment. 20 years old and she handled an impossible moment as best as you could. Girl just won the US Open and can’t even be happy about it.
Crazy, crazy scene of events. Serena was definitely receiving some coaching and the violation was warranted. But giving Serena a full game penalty in the second set of the US Open Final for her calling him a thief is outrageous. The amount of shit refs get in sports on a daily basis where they’re called “cocksucker motherfuckers” and other shit is one thing. But to be called a thief? Come on dude, it’s the women’s final you can’t be penalizing her a full game late in the set. I respect the fuck out of her for bitching out the chair umpire. That was awesome.
When they were doing post match speeches and awards Serena pleaded with the crowd to make the best of this moment and not ruin it for Osaka. She told everyone to stop booing and they’ll get past that. Credit to her, that’s some classy shit. I would have went nuts and tried to fight the ump. Still feel bad for Osaka that the whole moment was taken from her. She played amazing all tournament and probably wins this match even if all that crazy stuff happens.
