HOLY SHIT - It Looks Like Vince McMahon Is Bringing Back The XFL!!!
Pro Football Talk - In 2001, the WWE (then the WWF) and NBC launched the XFL, a no-holds-barred football league that served as a supplement to the NFL, whose broadcast rights NBC didn’t have at the time. A documentary that debuted earlier this year regarding the long-defunct league ended with WWE owner Vince McMahon and former NBC Sports chairman Dick Ebersol musing about a revival.
Now, out of nowhere, rumors of a potential return of the XFL have surfaced, with Brad Shepard reporting that McMahon is “looking to bring back the XFL and may announce it on January 25th, 2018.”
The WWE, when asked to confirm or deny a potential XFL reboot by David Bixenspan of Deadspin.com, said this: “Vince McMahon has established and is personally funding a separate entity from WWE, Alpha Entertainment, to explore investment opportunities across the sports and entertainment landscapes, including professional football. Mr. McMahon has nothing further to announce at this time.”
That’s far from a denial, and it feels like an implicit confirmation.

What a great day to be alive. The sun is shining, we’re a week from Christmas, and Vince McMahon is potentially bringing back the worst/best football league to ever exist- the XFL. A league with:
No kickers

will be back in our lives. I cannot wait.
You know how people complain about how bad the NFL product is right now? Well boy does Vince McMahon have an idea for you- take the same sport, and put out even WORSE players…butttttttttt let them wear cool nicknames on the back of their jerseys

I hope so much Vince brings this back. Because in his head, the NFL ratings are like a 0.0 (when in reality they are so marginally down it’s barely worth talking about). I can almost guarantee Vince’s huge selling point will be “if you don’t stand for the anthem, YOU’REEEEEEEE FIIIIIIIREDDDDDDDDD”. It’s pretty much a mortal lock.
And the other mortal lock?

JFF is going to be the face of the league. He will probably have equity in it. His team name will probably be the Houston Johnny Footballs. Vince and JFF were meant for each other.
I’m also hoping this means the return of the one and only JaMarcus Russell
