My Mind Is Blown That This Old Man Is Byron Leftwich...Who Is Now Carson Palmer's Quarterbacks Coach in Arizona

Amazing. My mind in completely blown right now. It could be the painkillers talking but it is incredible that Byron Leftwich is now Carson Palmer’s quarterbacks coach in Arizona. These two were once battling to be the Heisman winner, and then the number 1 overall pick. Palmer went 1, and then Leftwich went 7…way back in 2003. 2003! That was 14 years ago. CDs were still all the rage. Half of the #GoPresGo crowd wasn’t even born yet. Clay Travis still liked black people. And despite all those changes and years gone by, Palmer is still out there slinging it, and perhaps even more remarkable, now has Byron Leftwich coaching him.

How old they are blew Palmer’s mind as well:

Carson Palmer, the starting quarterback for the Cardinals, is 18 days younger than his position coach. I know it’s not completelyyyyy uncommon- (Sean McVay could barely drink legally when he was the quarterbacks coach for the Skins) but the fact Carson Palmer and Byron Leftwich are now united in the desert is crazy.

PS: Before Palmer got his knee rolled into and tore every ligament known to man, I’m pretty sure he was going to go down as one of the all time greats. He was a beast- in the 20005 and 2006 season he went 32 TD, 12 INTs and then 28 and 13. Even at his old ass age, he’s been quietly a beast in Arizona, throwing for 4200+ yards in each of his 3 full seasons. Even quietly went 13-3 in 2015. I’ll always be a Carson Palmer guy.
