The Tulane Marching Band Put On A Halftime Show For The Ages During The Pelicans Game Tonight

For a minute this looked like a game that was only going to be remembered in the grand scheme of things as the night Anthony Davis lost his shit on a ref and got ejected. Then halftime rolled around, the Tulane Marching Band took center stage and Anthony Davis going full LeBron became a minor footnote at best.

There I was, watching the Pelicans-Timberwolves game on League Pass, uploading tomorrow’s Mickstape (featuring future NFL Hall of Fame WR Isaac Bruce… yes, I realize we’re a basketball show), and all of a sudden there’s just screaming permeating from my television towards my general direction – seeing as that’s how sound waves work and whatnot. I was taken aback, shocked, and for a moment even befuddled. What in the world was happening? Was this a prank of some sort? Why was this happening?

And then it hit me, I was witnessing one of the great showmen of our time. One of the all time halftime performances these eyes and ears have ever had the pleasure of taking in. This Tulane Marching Band legend going BALLS TO THE WALL on his rendition of the smash 1999 Europop hit “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” by Eiffel 65.

You think you’re going to sleep well tonight? No one on the planet is going to be more well rested than this guy. Once he hit that “Blue his house” line this performance went from simply above average to downright transcendent. The accompanying dance moves to go along with “blue corvette” would make Elvis reconsider his entire career. If anyone’s got the in at Tulane please let me know because I need to be kept up to date on their next moves, what other songs they got up their sleeve, if they’re planning a world tour any time soon, all of it.
