I Will Never Eat Spaghetti Again

NYP – Following low-carb diets, such as Atkins, increases the risk of dying young, experts found.

Scientists say people who eat a “moderate” amount of carbs can expect to live four years longer. They suggest an optimum level of 50 to 55 percent of calories from carbohydrates, which are typically found in potatoes, pasta and bread.

Scientists from Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston analyzed data on 432,179 people. They found people who ate fewer carbs had a 20 percent higher risk of premature death.

I’ll admit it, I’ve been a little off the wagon recently. Eating sandwiches when I should be eating salads. Splurging at dinner with the appetizers and the desserts. But now I am all-in on the Keto diet. I will never eat spaghetti again. You won’t catch me with a morning bagel, no sir. For now on all I will eat are protein bars, grilled chicken, and all the red meat I can handle. I won’t even eat sushi anymore, and I love sushi, just can’t risk it. Even if I have a 5k fun run race for the cure, I won’t carb load with fettuccini alfredo beforehand. I’m now all protein, all the time, even if there’s a fire.

So now I have 2 mid-year resolutions for 2018- eating no carbs, and making sure I’m getting plenty of sleep at night as well.
